Ukraine's sumo national team takes part in raise awareness event on integrity in sport

On 18th March, the National Platform of Sports Integrity held an eraise awareness seminar for members and coaches of the National Sumo Team.

Sviatoslav Syrota, a member of the National Platform of Sports Integrity and Head of the NGO Play Fair, told the athletes how to avoid falling into the trap of possible manipulation in their sports career. He also stressed the importance of reporting any cases of violations in sport.

Denys Polubinskyi, representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, member of the National Platform, presented the activities of the Platform, shared relevant international and national statistics on match-fixing, and emphasised the importance of compliance with national legislation designed to combat corrupt influence on the results of official sports competitions.

The event helped to raise awareness among young athletes about the importance of integrity in sport and responsible behaviour on the way to a successful career.
