Ukraine's sambo team held a seminar on integrity on the eve of the World Games 2025
On June 2, Koncha Zaspa hosted an educational seminar for athletes and coaches of the Ukrainian national sambo team organized by the National Platform of Sports Integrity. The event was held as part of the educational program on integrity and countering the manipulation of sports competitions for members of the Ukrainian national teams that will participate in the 2025 World Games.
The participants were reminded of the importance of adhering to the principles of fair play, as well as of the serious risks posed by attempts to manipulate the results of competitions. Particular attention was paid to the Asian illegal betting market, which poses a potential threat to participants of large-scale international events such as the World Games.
Representatives of the National Platform not only warned athletes against participating in any form of manipulation, but also explained how schemes to involve them in violations of integrity in sports work. The seminar covered in detail the 10 steps that are commonly used to involve an athlete in a match-fixing scheme - from the first contact to pressure and threats that make it impossible to refuse.

Representatives of the National Platform noted the active involvement of athletes and coaches who participated in the seminar in discussing these issues. Thus, the seminar became an open dialog between representatives of the National Platform and future participants of the 2025 World Games.
Such events are part of the systematic work of the National Platform aimed at building a sustainable culture of integrity in sports in Ukraine. Participation in the World Games is not only an opportunity to win, but also a test of character and sports ethics. And awareness is the first step to protecting yourself and your career.
