The work of the National Platform of Sports Integrity was presented at the All-Ukrainian Forum of Athletes
On 18 December 2024, the All-Ukrainian Athletes' Forum was held for the second time at the Concha Zaspa Olympic Training and Sports Centre, with the participation of about one hundred leading athletes and other representatives of the sports sector.
The All-Ukrainian Athletes' Forum has become an important platform for sharing experiences and discussing key issues of sports development in Ukraine.
A separate discussion session of the All-Ukrainian Forum of Athletes focused on the issue of countering manipulation in sports and combating match-fixing. The reasons for such situations, their impact on the athlete's reputation, and possible solutions were discussed. The panelists, including Nataliia Radchuk, Secretary of the National Platform for Sports Integrity, Andrii Davydenko, Head of the Ethics and Fair Play Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), and Anastasiia Bilenko, Secretary of the Ethics and Fair Play Committee of the UAF, shared information on the use of modern technologies to detect manipulation in sports.
Nataliia Radchuk presented the work of the National Platform, the regulatory framework for its activities, modern approaches to investigating sports abuse, as well as best practices of cooperation between the state and sports movement organisations to counteract manipulation in sports.
Nataliia Radchuk emphasised that athletes, coaches and all those involved in the sports movement should set an example for young athletes and be ambassadors of integrity.
Andrii Davydenko and Anastasiia Bilenko shared the experience of the UAF Ethics and Fair Play Committee, best practices for detecting and preventing manipulation in sports competitions and football in particular.
The athletes were also informed about the possibility of reporting manipulation using certain modern digital tools: the UAF Fair Play Assistant chatbot and the website of the National Platform of Sports Integrity. Nataliia Radchuk emphasised that violations can also be reported anonymously on the website of the National Platform.
