The webinar discussed the issue of match-fixing and countering manipulation in table tennis

On 13 April, a webinar on combating manipulation in table tennis was held at the initiative of the National Platform of Sports Integrity, coordinated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Opening the webinar, Nataliia Radchuk, Head of Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Secretary of the Interagency Working Group "National Platform of Sports Integrity", welcomed participants on behalf of the Head of the Interagency Working Group, Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Gutzeit, and stressed the priority of integrity in sports in the work of the Ministry.

Speakers of the event included representatives of the Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation, the NGO "Play Fair" and BETER Company. 

The webinar discussed ways to detect and prevent match-fixing in table tennis, outlined opportunities for cooperation between federations and authorities to effectively combat this problem, and noted the important role of the sports movement in ensuring integrity in sport.

Speakers of the webinar stressed the need for sports federations to strengthen their awareness-raising activities for athletes and sports personnel about the negative consequences of violations of sports integrity and provided practical recommendations on how to combat match-fixing and other forms of manipulation in table tennis.
