The Ukrainian delegation took part in the meetings of the European Committees on Combating Manipulation in Sport

The delegation of Ukraine consisting of Nataliia Radchuk, Head of Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Secretary of the National Platform of Sports Integrity, and Oleksiy Perevezentsev, First Vice President of the NOC of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the National Platform, took part in the meetings of the Committee of the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (The Macolin Convention) and Network of National Platforms (Group of Copenhagen) held in the city of Macolin, Swiss Confederation.

The meetings were devoted to the status of ratification of the Macolin Convention, implementation of its provisions, as well as a wide range of issues of international cooperation in the fight against manipulation of sports competitions. In particular, all participants discussed the exchange of information and personal data protection by the Network of National Platforms, the spread of illegal sports betting in the world, the activities of illegal sports betting operators and money laundering through betting companies. The best European experience and practices of investigating of match-fixing and other violations of sports integrity were presented, including through the activities of the sports prosecutors' network. Separate programs were presented to monitor the next major sporting events: the EURO 2024 football tournament in Germany and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

During the meetings, the delegation of Ukraine informed about measures to promote the principles of integrity in the Ukrainian sports movement. In particular, the project of modifying of the website of the National Platform of Sports Integrity into an information and communication system with limited access was presented. It will allow the processing of alerts on possible manipulation of sports competitions to be digitized. In addition, participants were informed about the measures taken by the National Platform to strengthen criminal liability for organizing match-fixing and expand the powers of law enforcement agencies to investigate possible manipulation is sports competitions. The Ukrainian delegation also presented a report on alerts received and processed by the National Platform on possible match-fixing in 2023 and this year by sport and integrity violations.
