The National Platform of Sports Integrity and the Basketball Federation of Ukraine are developing cooperation to combat manipulation in sports
On June 20, representatives of the National Platform of Sports Integrity met with the management and specialists of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine at the NOC of Ukraine to develop cooperation in the fight against manipulation of sports results.

The event was another step in the implementation of the National Platform's systemic policy of establishing partnerships with national sports federations to build a culture of integrity in sports. This time, the key topic of the meeting was the specifics of the challenges faced by Ukrainian basketball in the context of threats to sports integrity.
The event was welcomed by Oleksiy Perevezentsev, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the National Platform, and Volodymyr Drabikovskyi, Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine. In their welcoming speeches, they emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to combating match-fixing and other forms of violation of the rules of fair play, especially in the context of the growing popularity of basketball among young people both internationally and in Ukraine.

In their presentation, the National Platform's experts outlined the key risks associated with manipulation in sports competitions and provided an overview of the current legislative framework, international standards and interagency cooperation tools developed by the National Platform. Speakers paid attention to the need to raise awareness of the participants of the sports process - players, coaches, officials - about the consequences of participation in match-fixing.

The discussion emphasized the importance of developing joint information and educational initiatives. Representatives of the National Platform and the Basketball Federation agreed to implement a series of activities aimed at raising the level of legal and ethical literacy in the sports environment, in particular among youth teams and coaches. The meeting participants also considered the possibility of integrating anti-corruption topics into the federation's internal educational programs.

Such events are part of a large-scale strategy implemented by the National Platform of Sports Integrity in cooperation with specialized agencies, sports federations and authorities. Their goal is to create a unified safe environment where fair play, transparency and responsibility become the key values of Ukrainian sports.
