Sweden has signed and deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (CETS No. 215), also known as the Macolin Convention.

‘Thus, Sweden has become the 13th state party to the Convention,’ the Council of Europe website says.

This fourth ratification in 2024 marks the end of a particularly eventful year, marked by the celebration of the 10th anniversary of this unique international instrument dedicated to combating the manipulation of sport competitions.

Ukraine was the 3rd country to ratify the Macolin Convention back in 2017 and is an active member of the Convention, developing the National Platform of Sports Integrity and the network of Integrity Officers in Sports Competitions.
