On 23 January, the Republic of Serbia has deposited the instruments of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (CETS No. 215), also known as the Macolin Convention.

Serbia becomes the 14th state party to the Macolin Convention, which will enter into force for Serbia on 1 May 2025.

"In just three years, the number of countries that have ratified the Macolin Convention has more than doubled, now reaching 14 with this latest accession. This milestone marks a decisive turning point in the recognition of this unique international instrument to combat the manipulation of sports competitions." - the official website of the Council of Europe states.

It is worth reminding that Ukraine was the 3rd country to ratify the Macolin Convention back in 2017 and is an active member of it, developing the National Platform of Sports Integrity and the network of Integrity Officers in Sports Federations.
