PlayCity and the Ministry of Youth and Sports join forces: together for integrity in sports

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the State Agency of Ukraine PlayCity have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Information Exchange in the field of preventing manipulation of sports competitions, illegal advertising of gambling, and combating the spread of gambling addiction.

The document was signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvii Bidnyi and the Head of the PlayCity Agency Gennady Novikov.

Matvii Bidnyi thanked Gennadiy Novikov for his cooperation in the fight for integrity in sports.

The signing of the Memorandum is an important step towards consolidating the efforts of state institutions to ensure the integrity of sports and protect it from external threats.

Under the agreement, the parties will exchange information about suspicious bets on official sports competitions and coordinate actions to identify and stop attempts to manipulate competitions, involving national and international partners in this process.

Special attention will be paid to countering violations of legislation on gambling advertising and the spread of gambling addiction. The cooperation will also focus on preventing athletes, coaches, referees, and other participants of sports movement from placing bets, which is prohibited under current legislation and sports regulations.

The memorandum lays the foundation for effective dialogue, raising awareness of integrity in sport, and creating a safe sporting environment in Ukraine.
