National Platform of Sports Integrity and Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation join forces to combat manipulation in sports

On 28 March, the National Platform of Sports Integrity met with representatives of the Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation at the NOC of Ukraine. The main topics of discussion were the strengthening combat against match-fixing and the introduction of new initiatives to ensure fair play in Ukrainian sport.

First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Yurii Muzyka stressed the importance of integrity in sports and noted the significant work of the UTTF in this area. According to him, in 2025, the National Platform, together with other stakeholders of sports movement, plans to double joint efforts to raise awareness, especially among members of national teams.

At the same time, the President of the NOC of Ukraine Vadym Guttsait stressed that he was confident in the ability of the UTTF to further strengthen the mechanisms of combating match-fixing and other manipulations in sports.

Oleksii Perevezentsev, First Vice President of the NOC of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the National Platform, presented the IOC's instruments to combat manipulation in sport and cited global statistics on match-fixing. He also recalled the new tool of the NOC of Ukraine - the Olympic Movement Code of Ukraine on the Prevention of Competition Manipulation.

During the meeting, members of the National Platform discussed main issues of anti-manipulation development in Ukraine. In particular, Nataliia Radchuk, Secretary of the National Platform, shared plans to form a network of Integrity Officers in sports federations, whose task will be to monitor the ethical behaviour of athletes and conduct educational activities. Svyatoslav Syrota, Head of the NGO Play Fair, shared examples of how fraudsters involve athletes in manipulation. Oleksandr Kochetkov, Head of the Ethics and Integrity Committee of the Ukrainian National Sports Federation, announced a series of educational courses for the Federation's athletes in 2025.
