National Platform holds integrity course for young badminton players

On August 7, the National Platform of Sports Integrity conducted a training course for players of the Ukrainian U-19 Badminton Championship.

The meeting was chaired by Nataliia Radchuk, Secretary of the Interagency Working Group “National Platform of Sports Integrity” and Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. The event discussed the issues of match-fixing and other manipulations of sports competitions at national and international levels, and reviewed recent high-profile cases in the fight against large-scale match-fixing schemes in sports.

Additionally, Nataliia Radchuk familiarized young athletes with behavior rules to prevent them from being involved in manipulation:

RULE №1: Do not agree on competition outcomes and compete fairly.

RULE №2: Do not bet on your own sport or any other sport event.

RULE №3: Do not share insider information about health issues or sports tactics.

RULE №4: Always report if manipulation has occurred!

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Badminton Federation of Ukraine, Olesia Nikolenko, spoke about the federation’s activities in the field of sports integrity and emphasized the importance of adhering to fair play rules.
