Nataliia Radchuk elected to the Bureau of the Council of Europe Committee against the Manipulation of Sports Competitions

During the 6th meeting of the Council of Europe's Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (The Macolin Convention), Natalia Radchuk, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian delegation, Head of Department of International Cooperation and European Integration, was elected as a member of the Committee's Bureau for a second term.

 

Representatives of Greece, Switzerland, Norway and Moldova were also elected to the Bureau of the T-MC Committee. The Bureau is empowered to determine the general policy and programme of activities of the Macolin Convention Committee.

The participation of the Ukrainian representative in the work of the T-MC Bureau allows Ukraine to strengthen its position in this intergovernmental structure and to intensify international cooperation on integrity of sport.

The Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (The Macolin Convention) was ratified by Ukraine on 16 November 2016 (Law of Ukraine ‘On Ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions’).

In order to implement the Macolin Convention, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine created a webportal of the National Platform of Sports Integrity, which allows representatives of the sports community and other citizens to report violations related to sports competitions.
