Jiu-Jitsu against manipulation: the National Platform held an online seminar

On July 16, the National Platform of Sports Integrity held an online educational event, attended by athletes, coaches and judges representing the sport of jiu-jitsu. The seminar was held as part of an educational program aimed at preventing manipulation of sports results, strengthening the culture of fair play and preparing jiu-jitsu athletes for the 2025 World Games.

The speakers were Nataliia Radchuk, Secretary of the National Platform, Andrii Nekrutov, expert of the National Platform, and Sviatoslav Syrota, Head of the NGO "Play Fair". The seminar participants were presented with key aspects of anti-manipulation legislation and analyzed specific examples of scenarios that contact sports representatives may face.

Nataliia Radchuk focused on the role of the National Platform in maintaining the integrity of the sports process and informed about the tools offered by the National Platform for recording and reviewing signals of possible manipulation of sports competitions.

In his turn, Andrii Nekrutov outlined the legal component of issues related to manipulation and noted that all representatives of the sports movement are subject to legal liability in accordance with the law and international standards.

Svyatoslav Syrota spoke about the psychological aspects of the pressure that can be exerted on athletes by interested parties. He paid special attention to the importance of the reputation of athletes, coaches and judges. 

The National Platform continues to actively work with sports federations, implementing systematic educational activities aimed at increasing the resilience of Ukrainian sport to manipulation and external threats.
